The Firebird Chamber Singers is a brand new women's choir which strives to provide talented youth and young adults an advanced choral music experience. This unique choir allows youth to work with mentors to develop, enhance, and instill character, cultural awareness, respect, and a commitment to excellence through the love of music. Choristers experience both innovative and traditional choral music (a cappella and accompanied) of the highest standard. The Singers have already garnered accolades from their inaugural Christmas concert where they performed not one, but 2 major choral works for choir and harp: John Rutter's Dancing Day Suite and Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols. You can listen to samples on their webpage: www.firebirdchambersingers.ca. Stay tuned for their final concert of the year, "Voice of the Elements", which will feature the works representing all of the elements (water, air, earth, and fire) and culminate with the mixed choir work Cloudburst by Eric Whitacre which simulates a thunderstorm!
